Everybody Move Over — CatCon's Taking Over
me-me-me-me-me-me-me ... [dum-DUM] me-me-me-me-me-me-me ... [dum-DUM]
No, not vocal warm-ups — pfft! like I need them? — just clearly stating what's the what here in Halfglassistan right now: It's. All. About. Me.
Miz CCW is prepping for her big holiday weekend, as tomorrow is, of course, the actual date of Cathleen Day on the calendar — the High Holiday of Halfglassistan. It's observed nationally (we're working on a global campaign) Monday.
So, that three-day weekend you're looking forward to? The fireworks? Parades? General merriment to be had by all?
Umm, yeah — you're welcome.
But for now ... follow my lead, and ONE AND TWO AND THREE AND FOUR:
Happy Cathleen Eve (hey)! Tomorrow's her birthday (hey)! We're going to the beach (YAY)! ... and, all together now!
A-HEM — I said, all together now ... Thank you. That's more like it.
Happy Cathleen Eve (hey)!

Who's Feeling All Kinds Of Awesome? This Girl. That's Who.
At the risk of sounding like a giddy 14-year-old, which differs from any other day how, exactly? OH! MAH! GAH!
Some of my loyal minions, er, faithful subjects, er, followers, er, dear readers, especially those skilled in the-between-the-line kind of reading you already know what has had me full of freaky geekiness for the past month and geeky dee-lish-ous-ness for the past week I am over-the-everlovin'-moon happy to proud to announce:
I have a new job. I am now employed by Anonymous-In-This-Venue-Until/If/When-It-Ever-Becomes-Appropriate-To-Integrate-My-Cancer-Warrior-Princess-Persona-With-For-Now-Anonymous-Good-Works-Done-In-Another-Arena-Promotion-Persona Non-Profit (ANP).
And I am thrilled beyond words, despite any evidence to the contrary.
ANP, you rock. Thanks for believing that I do, too.

I don't want to go among mad people ...
I don't want to go among mad people ...
Oh, you can't help that.
We're all mad here."
We're all mad here."

I Like What You've Done With The Place
Dear Universe,
I must say, you've been sending some good stuff my way lately.
I could wax poetic about what's going right here in Halfglassistan, but we both know how I feel about jinxes. So I won't go getting cocky about what's good. And I also won't go getting overwhelmed about what's bad.
In fact, I think I'll just shut up right about now. As soon as I say, "Thanks."
Sincerely,
Me

Bourbon. Bluegrass. Beauty.
For the 7+ years I lived in the Bluegrass State, I took her for granted.
An Army brat that lived anywhere and everywhere, I now know that the commonwealth is as much a part of me as the Calumet Region of Indiana where my heart's roots lie. She's more a part of me than the foggy San Francisco where my heart took its first beat. And while my heart bleeds red and black for my beloved Georgia — it is still a heart that was nurtured, broken and healed in the rolling hills and sweet air of Kentucky.
I never knew just how much I loved my old Kentucky home until all I had of her were memories, and in my mind, the sun is always shining bright on her.
Happy Derby Day.
